European Linden Wood

Does anyone have any knowledge as to whether or not something made out of European Linden Wood is laserable? I see in a search that Joe P mentioned Basswood, aka American Linden, is this the same thing?

I've engraved it. It is soft, much like poplar - probably even softer. It is very white in the natural state and takes on a honey tone when finished with an oil and urethane finish. It seems to provide a reasonable contrast when engraved. The grain is very subtle - almost indiscernible. Here's a picture of the only thing I've done in Linden wood. Raster setting I used was S40 P100.
