Porter Cable 330 Sander Problem

One of the sand paper hold down levers on my PC 330 Sander vibrates back and forth when running so much that you can see the lever opening and closing very rapidly and the sandpaper becomes loose. Any ideas?

you just might have the wrong type of sandpaper on it.:( I had that problem with the paperbacked sandpaper. The fix is getting cloth-backed j-weight paper.:D I get mine from Woodworker's Supply.

The retaining spring broke on one side. I have ordered a new spring and will repair. Called PC tech support and they were totally useless. Told me to buy a new sander rather than attempt to fix this one.

Chris, if you want or can, just take the assembly off. I've never used the paper clamps on mine. I've allways bought rolls of PC sticky back paper and cut to fit the pad as I need it. It works better that way anyway, you can sand inside corners better without the paper being rolled over the edge.
