Forgive the poor pictures, a photographer I'm not. First time using purpleheart, can't say I'm a big fan of working with it, but I do like the result.

Absolutely gorgeous, Jay! Fantastic job with the inlay. And yeah, I agree that Purpleheart is not an easy wood to work with but, usually worth the effort. Great job. :) :cool:

Wow! fantastic use of contrasting woods and grain. Can you post bigger pictures? I would love to see more detail. How did you join the corners?

Everything you see is veneers, the top and sides are mitered with biscuits. I'll work on some better pictures. Thanks.

Awesome job! Can you share how you finish them with me I am intrested in trying something like that but alwas have trouble getting that nice finish which you have seemed to master.

I keep the finish very simple, seal coat of shellac, tung oil blend, another coat of shellac and then lacquer. Then wet sanded and buffed with car polishing products to get the high gloss.
