View Full Version : Can someone tell me what this is?

I found this in an antique store this weekend for $18 and decided to pick it up. Sorry for the picture quality. Not sure what it is, looks like some sort of spokeshave. It has a small blade on it, maybe 3/4 of an inch wide. It also has a small adjustable fence to limit the width of cut. The only marking on it is what looks like "I.P. Hyde" on the bottom of the blade.

It looks like a beading tool to me...

I believe it is a leather workers sole shave. Its for trimming the edges of leather soles and heels.
