I got an Hitachi M12V2 router during the last Amazon sale. I have been spoiled by the above the table bit changes with my Porter Cable 895 PK (although several parts of the PC have broken). Which router lift do you recommend?
Router Raizer with bit extender?

Woodpecker Unilift?

Woodpecker Plungelift? (unknown if it will work with the M12V2) I've Emailed Woodpecker but they haven't responded.

Or are there better options? Thanks for you opinions.

Pete,I have the Plunge Lift from Woodpeck and love it.Its alot better than the Router Raizer(I had it at one time).Woodpeck puts them on sale ever so often.Forget the RR and go for the Woodpeck.

I have a Porter-Cable 890 router that I haven't used yet and I'm geting ready to build a table for it. I'd be interested in knowing what parts broke on your 895. I bought the Woodpeckers aluminum insert plate and the ring set. Top notch. I wouldn't expect their lift to be any less.

Just got a woodpecker this weekend and the insert set so far so good. Seems like the nicest one out there.

I plumped for the Jessem and have had no regrets

It's great piece of kit.

I have installed and used both Jessem and Woodpeckers lifts. They are both great. My problem is more with the Hitachi M12V2. To me, they added a few features that make it less useful in the table.

I have used about 7 of the M12V's and they work great. The new router has a different shaft lock mechanism. Not condusive to having a control rod affixed.

And also looking at the same lift at Woodpecker. Given John's comments about the router design changes please be sure and post Woodpecker's reply. I have not picked up the Hitachi yet but have been looking for a heavier set up. I have an entry level Rockler (Jessem) lift with a 1 3/4 hp Porter Cable router now.

In general does anyone have a comment on the stability of a lift system based on hooking it to the lift set up on a plunge router compared to a system using just the body of a non plunge unit? Seems like the dedicated lift for the non plunge unit would be more stable.

Thanks for any comments,
Larry

Chuck - Maybe it's just me, but I don't think I'm mishandling the PC 895 PK. I bought it mainly because of the above the above the table bit changes. I installed it in a Rosseau plate and drilled out the holes for the height adjuster and motor clamp. I'm still using it and like it fine except for the following:
1) collet lock broke. Dealer said "They always break." Repaired and still not working correctly. I bought a bent wrench and use 2 wrenches when changing bits.
2) ladder router rides to go up and down broke at the top mount. Still using it as it sits in a channel, but have ordered a new one.
3) Motor clamp has come apart 2 different times. Put back together and adjusted.

The Woodpecker plate looks good to me also.

I have the PC 890 in a Woodpecker Quick Lift and the 7518 in a Woodpecker PRL. Of the two I prefer the Quick Lift.

QL with a Dewalt motor body for me. 2nd one I've had, sold the 1st with the old TS. Love the easy height changes for bit changes!
If you put it in a DC box, make sure the variable speed dial is where you can get it. Twice I've done that backwards now.
Spatially challenged......

I received this Email from Woodpeckers today. Kind of expensive, but looks like the way to go, especially with the solid brake. I don't want to be reaching under the table each time to lock the height. Appears an extension may also be on the purchase list. Pete

Does Jessem Rout R Lift require the use of collet extension? Seems like it would for any router given the way the router attaches to the plate.
