Did a weed pot out of eastern red cedar which has some really nice colors in it. It's about 6" tall and finished with EEE and Beall buffed. Let me know what you think.

Looks great Joyce. Gotta love turning cedar. Nice job. When I turn cedar the LOML gathers up the shavings puts in a net bag and then in the closet. Smells pretty good.

Very nice Joyce. You're right about the red cedar and all of its color. You didn't mention the size of the hole but Craft Supplies has some glass tubes in 1" or 3/4" that make these weed pots even more functional. You can probably get them other places too. http://www.woodturnerscatalog.com/cgi-bin/shopper?preadd=action&key=031-0200

Very nice Joyce! Cedar is fun to turn and it's kind of like unwrapping a present, looking for what colors you find inside. I really like the satin finish.

The "King of Cedar" is a member here at SMC, Gary Max but, I haven't seen him post for a while.

Lovely weedpot Joyce! That contrasting red grain adds a lot of interest. Now where's the weed?:D

In the yard I neglect to spend time turning ... and that's where they are going to stay for now!:p

Thanks to all of you for your kind words.
