I am in the process of building operational shutters for a new home. Does anyone have a source for shutter hinges and hardware? I am in sticker shock over the price of hardware. It appears as though the hinges will cost more than the materials for the shutters. I will be making raised panel shutters out of Western Cedar for installation in a hurricane prone area ( coastal South Carolina).

I built mine using hardware from Lowes. I used gate hinges like these

and the sliding locks normally used for gate stops like these:

I used eyebolts for the receivers. The only shutter hardware I used was the holdbacks. Worked pretty good for me
