Well, not really...these are spalted maple blanks from Bill Fourness, but there's obviously more than just simple spalting at play here: I probably used up a pint of CA keeping these things together and kept half expecting live critters of visible size to crawl out while I was working with them.

#2, 5-3/4"x2-3/4":

There's another blank in the box, but I'm going to have to wait until my next batch of CA arrives. :p

Excellent, Lee! #2 is my favorite form of the two but both are beauties!

Interesting pieces! Those first two with the flatter tops certainly added some challenges to get them hollowed evenly. Nice work, Lee!!

Interesting pieces! Those first two with the flatter tops...That's actually the front and back of the same piece. In person they really look like some kind of stone.

All the pieces in all of your posts are great. I'm looking for the day I get half as good.

Lee, you're right; they do look like stone rather than wood. I really like the form of the first one - borrowed straight from the Native Americans.

Beautiful work Lee - falls into the catagory of art! At first glance both bowls look like they are turned out of stone - just amazing! Thanks for sharing!

Lee,
Those are all great I just posted a HF I did the other day from the same wood I got up at Bill's. I was waiting for the splat on my faceshield too!
