Hi All,

I just finished a cabinet for a client. It was the final piece for his bedroom set.
I built the bed and nightstands 2 years + ago.
Anyway, It completes the set and I'm pretty happy with it.
The front doors slide and the whole thing is made from maple and mahogany.

I like it! It took a moment for the legs to look right to me, but after seeing the bed, they began to look right. Beautiful contrast of woods.

It's the easiest and I feel nicest finish to use, an Oil/Varnish mixture.
I always change it up but it's basically tung oil and spar varnish. Sometimes I use some turp in it to thin it. I put on about 4 coats with some very light sanding after the 2nd just to knock down any dust or spots that build up.

John, great design and craftsmanship. The wood contrast sets off the design nicely. Your client must be pleased with such a fine set.

I really like the look of them two woods together. What did you do for the side boards? Any chance of a side side angle pic? I am getting ready to make a bed and need all the input I can get.

Wow! I just love the contrast on the wood. Very nice work on the all the pieces. Simple lines and great workmanship garanties many years of enjoyment no matter what trend is *in*.

I like the finish a lot and I just might try it on a future project.
