Mc Naughton large coring

I am pretty sure but wanted to make sure. If I have the medium Mc Naughton system and wanted to expnad it I can just get the large medium ccurve blade and it will fit in the existing handle, right?

All three sets of blades will fit in the handle. The older tool rests had only 2 sets of fingers or gates for the blades to fit into, and they were for the large and standard set. The mini were added later, and there is an adapter for them. I use the medium and mini sets almost exclusively.

Thanks Reed. I use the medium exclusively right now but I have some really big hunks of figured wood and would like to squeaze all I can out of them.

Mike,
just an after thought, but do get the handle extention so that you have the 24 inch handle. The extra leverage helps a lot. There is some flex in the tool rest, more so with the bigger blades.

It does fit.

But after awhile you start wishing you had a second handle.
And once you start using that second handle you realize you need a third handle.
