Creeker Visit: Fred Voorhees -- complete with a gloat...

I got a call from Fred yesterday after he returned home from his field trip to a new lumber source...'said he wanted to stop by and show me something. Kewel...I should have one eye open by 9:30a or so. :p So, Fred arrives this morning with a few hunks of wood in the back of his truck. What happened was that after Fred loads up with a very nice 140 bd ft haul of wide (11-14") red oak (at $2.15 a bd ft), the guy at the lumber place asked him if I did any turning...and send along a split crotch of what looks like a fruit wood of some type and a very nice log section of what I think is maple. Fred's sitting on the nice 24" log and you can see the split crotch on top of the slider. Nothing like topping off a Mother's Day breakfast of latté and muffins with some new turning stock! :D Thanks, Fred!!

You will note that he brought his seat with him and even helped carry it into the shop... ;)
