Well here is a HF I turned today with some maple burl that Ken Fitzgerald was so kind to share with me. It is 7 3/4" tall and 6 3/4" across. The walls are 1/4" thick. Was scared to go any thinner because I thought when I was turning it it was going to explode any time as I could hear it creaking and groaning. It stayed together and I am pretty pleased with it and how the monster tool worked today. I have one coat of Antique Oil on it. I gave it the the LOML of 40 yrs. for mothers day. She loves it. Pictures aren't to good as I haven't got the photo tents setup yet or able to use the tripod.

Bernie, great job !! Don't you just love the challenge ? You probably already know this but you can wrap it in saran wrap (haven't tried) and or tape (not they gray stuff, to much residue) to help keep it together while doing the inside. Anyway, very nice piece.

Great job Bernie, shes a beauty! Great form.
Love turning HFs with holes in them, makes it easy to get the saw dust out of them ... lol.

Bernie,
I absolutely love the piece. Did you use a capture rig with the monster tool?

Bernie, I can't think of the right adjectives to describe this piece. I love the form, but I'm still trying to figure out how you kept it together! It's beautiful, and I'm sure your wife just loves it.
