A 2.8HP motor drawing 15 amps on a 115 circuit????:confused:

The motor may have to be replaced to get the full usability of that machine. I'd have a 3-5HP motor on a 220 circuit minimum. Still, it's a nice unit. Too bad I need a drum sander more.:eek:,:rolleyes:.

Hitachi does that with other tools, too - giving the "sears" horsepower rating, that is.

It'd probably be a nice resaw bandsaw with a 5 hp motor, and the price is a lot better than the $2600 it was a couple of days ago. As long as you have a motor already. If it gets into the $2000 range once you get another motor, there are a lot of nice bigger saws in that range already.
