This is a Limoncillo burl bowl about 12 " in dia. Here in the tropics everything grows so fast we dont get as much figure as the more temperate climate burls but some as this are OK.

This was hard enough to take a couple of inches off a car spring V point roughing tool.

Not only did you do a great job with the turning but that is some of the most beautiful wood I have seen.

2 inches! Whoa! Somebody needs some HSS tools.. maybe even some carbide!

Jim, this is a beautiful piece with all that figure and color. You have access to a lot of wood with pretty color. Thanks for the posting of this one.

That's really nice Jim! What about an update on that giant pattern makers lathe you snagged a while back?

The lathe is arriving Wednesday (tomorrow) on the ship and it should be about a 2 or 3 week fight with customs and we will have it. Right now we are building an addition on our building and building some kilns but it should be operational in a month. Hope to have some photos at least in the next few days.
