Here's a bunch of pictures from our recent vacation to visit grandma and grandpa in Florida as well as the mouse house. Enjoy!

Saturday, we took a trip to the beach to relax and unwind from our, umm..."minor" travel difficulties the day before. This is New Smyrna Beach; about an hour and a half drive from the 'rents in central Florida.

The pool at my parent's community provided a nice opportunity to relax on Sunday. Oh, the hat picture mirrors one that my parents have of my brother and I when we were kids and in Mexico.

Nastia wanted to try golf, so I took her to the putting practice green

A few minutes before this photo, Alesya fell out of the cart 'cause she wasn't holding on...a few minor scrapes, but she took it in stride. And Grandpa insisted on cleaning up the small cut on her foot which she got through without crying even!

Oh, and Disney was a very nice time for all of us, despite the girls refusal to go on the River Boat ride in Adventure Land. (This after they survived Space Mountain...go figure...)

I forgot to mention that I took these photos with my Sony HC-90 video camera...I left the Digtal SLR home so I wasn't carrying multiple cameras around my neck. I shoot video in 16:9, so these photos also benefit from that aspect ratio. While the Sony has that nasty "delay" when you press the shutter, etc., that so many non-SLR digital cameras exhibit, it does take great high-resolution shots (2000 pixels wide) when in "save to memory" mode. I had to do very little retouching in PhotoShop Elements.

My parents were thrilled that the girls got to visit. My mother has been battling a re-occurrence of her Chron's and the medication been really sapping her for a long time. By the time we left, she was a "new woman"...at least for someone 76 years young. Dad recently had more stents put in and was feeling good. He also had a nice time with the girls.

Here's a few pictures of Grandma (Shirley) and Grandpa (Elmer) "in action"...

I see someone has had a visit from the Tooth fairy.:p

Looks like a lot of fun, hope you didn't get sunburned. Wow, it's been 10 years since I was in Orlando! Time sure flies. (I was on a business trip, so I skipped Disney World, and went to Kennedy Space Center, and their awesome Saturn V display instead)

best,
...art

Looks like a good time had by all! Better to go there now than in August when the heat is so forbidding, too!
