I may be way off base here, but in theory couldn't you cold blue a jointer table or table saw table for rust prevention--as opposed to using wax.

You'd need to wax it anyway. Wax also keeps the friction down.

Cold blue is really great for some things, but it is not at all good as a rust preventative. Some formulations seem to even encourage rust. I've used it in some machine restorations, but I always wax it.
