Greetings Everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone here knows a way to allow my lathe to turn at a slower speed than it's standard lowest setting which I think is 450 - 500 RPMs.

The only way would be to change the pulley ratios which would be darn difficult on a lathe with a Reeves drive...or find a motor of the exact same frame type and shaft diameter that runs at a slower speed...or to change the whole drive system to a VFD controlled 3-phase motor. (still runs on 240v single phase) There are no other options on the electrical side...you cannot use any kind of speed controller on an induction motor.
