This happened right here in vermont in a very small town not far from where live. I'm guessing we have people here that grew up in many different times but i doubt if any of us can identify with this dark culture.

I spent alot of time today surfing this kids page and his friends page, trying to find out how the kids would deal with this type of thing...and the causalness of it all is mind boggling. In one comment the GF of the killer is explaining to someone else what happened and in the next breath tells the kid she will bring him his wallet the next time she sees him....

its just so out of control....and very very sad.

Very sad indeed, and I can see this turning into a political discussion fairly quickly. It is possible that if the young man had been punished for his original crime of retail theft he might have reconsidered his decision to shoot his father. There is a very dark culture alive today in some sectors of our young people. These are the people who will be caring for us in the future. Scary, huh? I spent some time on the MySpace page and just can't fathom the thought processes going on with these kids. I personally have diffculty getting past the level of profanity that seems so commonplace. Wish we could all live in Mayberry.
