Picked up a Disston one man cross cut saw today. About 5 foot long, has some minor rust on it but it does not appear that it has ever been used.
I can find a little bit of info. on the Disston site but am curious about a value on the thing or any other info. avaliable.
Any help is appreciated.

Depends on condition..........amount of tooth length left, any teeth missing or broken, pitting in steel, etc., and also on general tooth pattern. Naturally certain model numbers (look for an etch....that is where you will find the model #) are valued more highly than others. Hold the saw in the sun and wiggle it around to catch the light just right when looking for the etch if it isnt clear. Do not take abrasives to the etch when cleaning.

There are a number of collectors and a small user community.

Appreciate it. The saw is in excellent condition. It does not appear that it has been used at all as the teeth are pretty much perfect. I will try and get some pics and see if I can find the etching you mentioned.
Thanks
