A while back Shane Whitlock posted a picture of a beautiful walnut bowl that he was giving his Mom for Mothers Day. I thought that was a great idea so I made one for my Mom too. It's from a piece of some variety of southern oak that came from a tree downed by one of the hurricanes a few years back in Florida. 11" dia 4.5" high and finished with Danish Oil.

Awesome bowl... I love this design and that oak is some beautiful wood: nice colors! Great finish, too!

Beautiful bowl Curt! I like the form and the detail work. The soft finish highlights the outstanding wood grain - seriously nice work! Your Mom should love it!

OOOOOHHHHHHHH I like the colors. Design and finish is nice, but ohhhh the colors. Good job on bringing the beauty out of the wood!
