Here's a cedar bowl, about 8" across. It was sanded to 400, get several coats of watco danish oil, then was buffed/waxed with the standard 3-step system.

Critique requested... thick skin is ready! Thanks everyone for your comments.

Thick skin not needed. Shape is pleasing, proportions appropriate, and done with a nice finish. Nice bowl.

Ditto. Looks great! Nice curve and beautiful finish.

You might try playing with the white balance settings on your camera to show the true colors of this gem.

darn, you grabbed onto the shape I was looking for with my last bowl, it slipped away like an eel covered in bearing grease... very nice job...and thick skin can be shed

I agree with what everyone else has said. It's a very nice, classic shaped bowl. The cedar is pretty and the finish is very nice. As a personal preference I think a slightly smaller (diameter) foot sometimes looks better, but that's just my own opinion. Very nice bowl!

Amazing wood Patrick! Great form and finish. I like the way you slightly rounded over the lip - gives the bowl a softer look. Very nice work!

Its horrible ... you didn't sign it.

Put your name on it and it will be a fine turning.
