This is a piece of Apricot wood I scavenged from an orchard that is being developed into a new subdivision. I thought it was pretty wood. I still need to buff it out some and try for a better picture. It's 7" x 7", give or take a little, with danish oil and some deft lacquer on it.

Curt

It is very pretty wood. I love turning Apricot and Peach. They make some awesome pens as well. You did a great job.

Thanks everyone!

Ken, this wood was still a little on the green side. It wasn't bad at all to turn but just since I took the pics 2 days ago there are some cracks starting to spread from the pith in the sides. I turned it pretty thin (for me), about 1/4" in hopes it wouldn't self-destruct but we'll see what happens in the next few weeks.
