When I decided to learn how to turn, I wanted to make boxes. Ive made quite a few and enjoy giving them to folks. I try to make them feel good when held. Its gratifying to watch someone pick up a box and smile. This one is Black Walnut, 3x2", danish oil, buffed. It was a birthday present for my daughter.

Tom, another beautiful box. I'm about to try my first one. I've done bowls, pens and 1 HF and am about ready to try a box. Wish me luck. I am located just about the same distance south of I-70 as you are but about 50 miles west. Have a sister in Centerville OH.

Very nice Tom. The grain match on the top and bottom show a lot of attention to detail.

Thanks for all the kinds words!!!
Boxes are fun to do. Raffen gives pretty good instruction on the various steps involved. I think they are good training for alots of things. They teach precision, scraper and skew control.
Thanks again!
