Anybody know what type of wood this may be to get this type of look. I really like it.I think the blue borg sells this piece. Id like to duplicate look in maybe a hall table.

Reminds me of the new Lyptus (sp) which is a fast growth form of eucalyptus (they tinkered with the tree dna or something to make more money).

not sure.

Liptus:

Had a guy come to our local woodworkers club. Liptus is a natural hybrid of two types of eucalyptus. It comes from New Zealand. They grow it down in Brazil and the stuff grows to maturity in about 15 years. We talking 50'. :eek: They harvest it like any crop. What is great about any kind of eucalyptus is you can't kill it by cutting it down. Just like a weed it will grow back to cutting height in another 15 years. :eek::eek:

It does tend to burn when cut, routered.

Could be a variety of teak perhaps.. See if the wood has an oily texture..
