Went to the Woodcraft Store for some pen kits, and LOML saw this piece of walnut on the shelf and wanted a HF made, so I thought I would give it a try. This was made from one half of the blank we purchased. I drew her some different shapes on paper, most in the traditional HF of wider at the top and narrower at the bottom, but in the end this is the shape she wanted. This is my first HF 5"x4". I used the Sorby multi-tip hollowing tool.

That is a beauty for your first HF. I wish my first looked that good. Nice work. Keep'em coming.

Great job Steven! Glad the LOYL is so involved and interested; maybe in due time you can even abysserate her! Also, the tool you used is a great tool to start out with. I have both it and a midi hollowmaster, and frankly I like the multi-tip hollowing tool much better.

Paul,

I didn't have any trouble with the inclusions. I don't now if it was because they were so small or just lucky. I was concerned about them, being this was my first hollow form, but really I couldn't tell they were there.
