No, not The good book.

I have some cherry slabs that are curved (cut from large, arcing branches) and would make interesting benches or coffee tables. I'd like to find a good book on designing and making pieces from wood that is not dimensioned, still has wany edges, etc. Any recommendations?

thanks, Jake

Look at anything and everything natural edged by George Nakashima...just do a Google.com search and you'll find a lot of pictures available on line. His book, Soul of a Tree is also recommended reading--for more than just the pictures and sketches, I might add.

Perfect resource Jim, except, you want me to read? I just wanted to look at pictures. Seriously, I'd seen his stuff but didn't know his name well enough to recall it. All the books I found today at the book store were overly rustic in nature. Nakashima's work is exactly what I had in mind.
