I have an almost full bottle of HUT Crystal Coat that I have been using to finish pens. Just noticed that it had a "best used by" date of October 2006. How long will it actually last? What happens when it "goes bad"? So far it appears to work with no problems.

Thanks,

John

HI

Just checked the bottle I was using today and it says best before March 2005, and it was as good today as when I first got them. So I guess as long as the solvents dont evaporate it is good till its all gone.

I've got several bottles that are now out-of-date. They taste terrible once they go "off".

Seriously, I quit using Crystal Coat a long time ago. There are a number of better options available.

I suspect these are shellac based products...and pre-mixed shellac does age-out.

Hi guys, I use Mylands Friction Polish. It seems to do a better job.
