Here's a box I made to hold two pens that my knuckle dragging buddy Kevin Gersty turned for me out of some wood my father gave me when he became unable to continue his woodworking hobby.

I'm going up to Oklahoma to give them to him tomorrow.

Box is Maple and bubinga with a tung oil and wax finish

Tnanks for looking, now I' back to the lathe :)

What kind of chuck did use to turn that thing on the lathe? ;)

Seriously nice job on the box I really like the wood combination - I'm sure your dad will love it.

Looks very nice! I'm sure your Dad will be pleased. What kind of lathe did you use to get something that much out of round? Think I need to get one! ;)

Man I got nervous for a second there when I saw my name in the title ;)

That is really nice looking Ace. I think that is a very unique box. In fact I think I might try to duplicate it. If I may ask, is it just a piece of maple with the bubinga wrapped around like trim. In other words, if you were to look at it from the bottom would it look the same as on top without the nice chamfered edge.
