Does anyone know of a fix for the VS lever that always gets in the way?

Thanks for your help.

Tim,

I used to have that lathe and it is now in a good home since I moved up to a Powermatic 3520.

I read somewhere that one turner took the lever off and bent it so it would stay out of the way. Don't know if he heated it before he bent it, but he was happy with the way it turned out.

Thanks Clem for your feedback, I appreciate your help.

I would like to think that Jet had developed an accessory handle by now.

Any replacement suggestions folks?

Thanks again!

Tim, I'm having the same issue with the speed selector. If you find anything out let me know. I love the lathe and the handle is my only gripe but at times it can be a real pain.:(

I've never had it get in the way but is it possible to reverse the lever so it points the other way?

I recall giving that a try once and found a reason it would not work, can't for the life of me remember what it was though.

I've sent an email to Jet but have not had a response yet ... they're probably stumped too.

Thanks y'all

TimOK, I am at a loss  The only way I can see the lever getting in the way MIGHT be turning a 14 inch bowl or plate, and I would not be doing that at 3000 rpm, so, what would the fix be for
