If you have a Mast-R-Slide, I have a small suggestion that avoids the need to reposition the scale after moving the fence from one position to another, and then back to its original position: include a stop to limit the left-right movement of the fence.

All that is needed for the stop is a is a 1/4" machine screw and nut. Slide it into the lower channel of the fence, to the right of the fence clamping bracket (i.e., the bracket on the right, as opposed to the fence pivot bracket on the left).

Whenever the fence is in the "A" position (at the front of the saw), shift the fence to the left until the stop is against the clamping bracket.

After moving the fence from the "A" to the "B" position and sliding it to the right to cut mitres, it can be returned to the "A" position (with the stop against the clamping bracket) without having to readjust the scale.

As an alternative to the stop, one could simply place a spacer between the end of the fence and the blade when positioning the fence in location "A", but use of the stop is faster and a little more accurate.
