With my new tool I had to change my shop around and clean it up. For the most part I work with shorter pieces of wood so I don’t need lots of area around my tools.
So I can get them closer together. The shopbot took more space though it did not change much. Only my bandsaw’s needed different homes. My 17” is still not perfect 24” woods still hit the shopbot rail.
But since I took up the rubber standing pads I can get around in my shop better. For the most part I don’t stand on one place long enough to need them.
My dc has been changed so much it is a bit wacky. But with the big impeller on it it works great I would like to reroute everything but the 600 or so to do it would be hard to justify and the time. It took over a k the first time.
The bags are American fabric filter bags. Over twice the surface area that is necessary. I started out with two of the standard cartridge filters but my super fine padouk and ipe sawdust kept blowing through. I debated on getting 4 or 6 of them but they are a real hassle to clean. So I went with the bags. I was disappointed as I still smelled ipe in the air. But after 6 months or so it has not been an issue.
