I'm the type of person that has a hard time discarding cut-offs/scraps from projects. I always feel like there will be a use for them: another project, repair piece, etc.... Well, my scrap pile was getting a little too big and I needed to whittle it down a little:

Also, it's pretty enough for my LN plane......

And the best part: she works as good as she looks.......

Looks good. I was concerned about using man made material for the fence. Theoretically once you take the first few passed you are not cutting the fence, but was concerned I might scratch the bottom. Do you have a hot dog or side handle for the #9? Proabably would be more comfortable in the hand.

Mike - Thanks for the kind words.

Mark - I do have the handle, I just didn't have it on when I snapped the pic. I went with mahogony for the fence because it was the thickest scrap stock I had. The ledge is a strip of maple from a discarded benchtop and I'm hoping the maple will last awhile, even with heavy use.

Sorry Fred. I should have looked closer. I was mistaking the grain of the mahogany for ply laminations.:o
