Well I am on the finish stretch. I ordered glass for the shelves (you can see temporary hardboard shelves in the component side) which is the last thing to do. Other than that, this baby is done and loaded. It is made out of Oak and Oak Ply with a semi-gloss black finish. I included aluminum c-channel in the top for accent. Brushed steel hardware, full extention glides on the video storage drawers, and brushed silver 110v holagen lights. The glass in the doors is kind of hard to see, but it is ribbon glass I got at the local stain glass store. Expensive at $18 per square foot, but it really fits nice with the cabinet. In the side with the components is a recessed touch dimmer for the 4 holagen lights. The lower doors have black speaker cloth in the middle to hide my bookshelf Infinities. The unit fits around my 50" Mitz bigscreen. Dimensions 75"h x 83"w x 24"d.

Now for the next project.

Scott, the black finish is a very nice departure from all the various stains we usually see. It was really enhanced with the aluminum trim.

Looks great! Very nice execution. I have the same speakers, you've inspired me! Do you have a subwoofer hidden in there somewhere?

The design did not allow me to have the sub in the cabinet. I have it under a table next to the couch. I also am not sure I would want the sub in the same unit anyway as it could impact the components over time with the added vibration that would resonate.

The speakers sound great and the added height helps since there is carpet on the floor that absorbs some sound waves.

Thanks for the compliments.
