I know it's not a really cool power tool or anything, but I just picked up about 75 Jorgenson Heavy Duty I-Bar clamps ranging in lengths from 3' to 8' and also about 20-30 small Jorgenson bar clamps and 6 or 7 8" wooden hand screw clamps for a grand total of $400. I'm guessing I'll never ever need clamps again in my life...but I am one happy camper!

Well, I'd say it was easily over 1000 pounds...those 4', 6', and 8'ers weight well over 15 pounds. When the guy told me how much he wanted I almost threw my money at him...I'm still in awe. These are by far my favorite clamps to use for any edge glue-up and they are really handy to build jig's and clamp rests for. I'm pretty excited still (if you can't tell).

Ah ha...I've been called out by the picture police. Ok, Ok...I'll get some pictures within a few days.

One of the most odd clamps in the bunch was a rockler aluminum bar clamp with an "extension"...it's a 10 footer all put together. I'd never seen one before.

Also...have any of you ever seen clamps that use 2 friction pads (aluminum) to grip the wood and tighten only one side? He threw in 4 of those...it took me about 5 minutes to figure out how they worked.

Are you gonna need a storage room just to store the clamps?

Well, I'm fortunate enough to have a 40X60 shop - but I do get to make a clamps rack now. Any pictures or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

A 7 ft I-bar clamp is $44.00. 75 x $44.00 = $3300 just for the I-bar clamps.Can you say Truck heist.I would keep it quiet if I were you.

Man...you are making me feel bad...like I ripped the guy off. Oh well, my first clamping project will be in memory of his loss. :)

I knew it was an insane deal. I was giddy. He's lucky he didn't get a big bear hug from me.

Now I am just cruising the creek looking for clamp rack ideas! What a great day!

They are great to use when you are putting together a face frame with a kreg jig.. It keeps them from moving side to side.. All you need is another clamp at 90 degrees to keep the pieces from moving vertically.

It's hard to explain in words.. When you use it, you will see what I mean..
The second clamp keeps the boards in the same plane.

Do you mean face frame clamps like this?

that thought had already crossed my mind. I'm a big fan of the Kreg jig for mass production face frames...maybe this will better my game.

Aaron, if you'll go to this thread, post #57, the last picture in the post is of our clamp wall in our shop.
