Well jumped off the deep end this morning and turned a natural edge bowl out of mesquite.

Much thanks goes to Bill Grumbine for all the great info he has on his web site about turning both natural edge bowls and I built and used a version of his clamp to finish the bottom of this bowl.

Also thanks to "The old Rebel" for his advice on sharpening and using scrapers, had almost no sanding to do on this bowl.

Thanks for looking, Hopefully watch this space for more to come :)

First it was Kevin I couldn't keep up with - then Noah -now you - If Ron ever turns his lathe on it will be all over for me ;)

Great job on the natural edge - BTW -
Be careful sanding the rims of those things - DAMHIKT

Ace,

You must have started that right after we talked about it in Chat. Looks great! Any words of advise for the first time?

Dude...step away from the lathe. It has taken over your life. Seek help immediately!!!!! :D

Seriously, great work. You are a "natural" at this turning deal. :D
