This is a 9x 5 1/2 mesquite bowl I have been working on for a while. The finish is Watco Danish oil rubbed out by hand.

Mike,

I like the bowl and the burned pattern. Good job. I am learning pyrography and hope to do some burning on my turned objects. So far I have only burned a flower pattern on a turned platter of big-leaf maple and it turned out pretty good. How well does mesquite burn?

I really like the form and design on this. The proportions are spot on.
I agree with Keith that you have been raising the bar, especially for neanderthals like me.

That is really nice. I love the design. I am wondering a little about the shape. I wonder how the form would look had you continued the outside curve all the way down instead of that slight flare right at the base. Anyone know how to photoshop the pic to see how that would look? Beutiful piece. I wish I had the patience and the know-how to do something like that.
