Air Bearings

Has anybody made air bearings, I need help to make them. I am going to be moving an old 1200 pound Powermatic bandsaw I am going to rebuild. I would appreciate any help.

I saw a piece of equipment like you describe at the last IWF and one of the guys at Fine Woodworking was doing a review on it. Lemme think who it was.. Oh. I know. It was Roland Johnson, a contributing editor doing that review.

Hello,
Golf balls work pretty well as "rollers" under heavy objects, providing the bottom of the object is flat and the surface your going over isn't too rough.
I can move my Browning safe - about 800 lbs loaded - across the family room carpet by tipping it sideways and putting 4 or 5 golf balls under it.
