I am a woodworker newbie and recently purchased a Jointer and Planer. What brand wax and or oil is recommended to prevent rust on cast iron and steel portions of tools?

I know not to use products with silicone which might contaminate the finish.

Thanks

James

Yep. Good old Johnson's Paste Wax; not floor wax, not furniture wax, just plain old paste wax. It can be a challenge to find in some areas. My HD doesn't carry it but my Lowes does. It's with the liquid floor wax, mops and such. About $5 a can and a can will last a long time. I wax my saw almost weekly and I'm still on the same can from last year.
