I have the large shoulder plane and it is a great tool (as are my other LN planes).

I was literally one click away from ordering the Veritas Medium Shoulder plane this morning when I decided to check the LN site. Lo and behold, their new small shoulder plane on the "what's new" page. The LN medium was always too close in size for me to justify having it and the large, but this small one looks perfect.

Using the large plane is great for big stuff, but it's a bear for small work. This little bugger will fill a serious niche.

Am I the first one to post about this? Or does someone already have one?

There was a thread "on another board" about a new LN catalog in the mail. The new shoulder plane was in the new catalog, and just put up on the site a few days ago. There were some other tools that were new as well... The low angle jointer now available with an adjustable mouth. There is also a new one inch chisel (got one) and some new sizes of skew chisels.

I have not seen my new catalog yet, but I'm looking for it.
