I put a new 12" Forrest Chopmaster 80 tooth. on my Makita 1212 slider last year and I can never get clean cuts. There is always tear out on the backside regardless of whether it's solid or plywood. Is there some slop adjustment in this saw that I'm not aware of or is there something else that could be causing this? I put a Forrest on my table saw and its great but I get really frustrated trying to get nice cuts on my slider. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm not trying to be a smarty-pants by any means but, backer board?

I put the 96 tooth Freud on my 12" SCMS a while back and had the same problem until I built an auxiliary zero clearance fence.
