While waiting for roughed bowls to dry, LOML found a pakauk bowl blank on sale at Woodcraft, so I made the bowl. 3x3x6, finished with friction polish. BTW my nickname was "RED" for a while. Boy does this stuff ever get everywhere. If you ever want to know how well your filters are working on your mask, just turn some of this stuff and look at them.

LOML just loves this bowl, as it is my first. She said she would not part with it for $100 until I told her I could make another Just like it.(Luckily she hasn't done a total on all my expenditures). A friend of mine got a boat and was complaining that he did nothing but spend money on it. I told him he was lucky, he could have bought a lathe.

Steven, very pretty bowl!! I agree with your wife; if the LOML had turned this, I wouldn't part with it either---not for any amount of money. I have some f--twork pieces that hubby has made for me over the years that I also wouldn't part with. Hubby says to sell the china cabinet and he'll build me another one; you can just guess what I told him!!!

Steven, there is a reason I wear a full face mask working that stuff. Someplace (and I couldn't find it in a 90 sec search just now), I have a photo of my pre-filter, showing bright red dust, and I was turning, not sanding.
