I've had the G0555 for about 2 years. I've resawn 12" logs with some difficulty but that is all operator error. The saw gets the work done.

If you're looking to cut flat work, no problem. Get a good set of blades and you will be trouble free.

When I bought my bandsaw, I wasn't sure if it was something I really needed. Now, I use the bandsaw more then the table saw. If my shop wasn't located in a low-ceilinged basement I'd get a 3hp Aggazani.

If you are looking at 14" band-saws, then take a good look at the Laguna 14". Most other 14" saws require a lot of after-market up-grades, while the Laguna doesn't. This makes it very competitive price-wise if you consider this, and it performs at the top level.

I really like my G0555 (I considered it an upgrade from the far more expensive Jet 14 inch and smaller Delta that I had before it.) I did get a big 24 inch bandsaw (like the difference between a dumptruck and a wheel barrow) but the G0555 is so good for a 14 inch saw that I decided to keep it.

If you're looking at resawing with a 14" saw, consider the Rikon 10-325.http://http://www.rikontools.com/Products/Bandsaws/10-325.htm (http://http//www.rikontools.com/Products/Bandsaws/10-325.htm). I wrote a review a few weeks ago. The only problem for me was the motor, the one that came with the saw was bad. It seems Rikon had a bad batch of motors. I don't know if that has been resolved yet, but customer service was very prompt with a new motor. This saw requires a healthy 120 volt circuit, and I like it better on 240 volts. It works good, no having to deal with riser blocks. As far as blade length, you can get any length blade you need from various online vendors.
