i am looking for a book to take me step by step through the construction of a segmented bowl. I would like it to be a bowl with a diamond pattern in the side (i guess another pattern would do but i would really like a diamond). One of my friends just completed one and said there was a book on it but he doesn't remember where he got it. Anybody with any information please let me know it would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I am looking for a BOOK not a video

If you go down to the bottom of the page there are a couple books on segmented turning! There maybe more elsewhere! I can't personally recommend any books because I haven't read any or done any segementing, but you might look into these! If your local library is big enough they might have it or if your library has an interlibrary loan system you might be able to get it to check out! My library has lots of these books.

Dale Nish has one that is good, http://www.woodturnerscatalog.com/cgi-bin/shopper?preadd=action&key=273-0100

I know you don't want video, but Curt Theobald's videos are a good source. http://www.curttheobald.com/store.html

But Malcolm Tibbetts book is probably my favorite (to see the quality of his work, check his recent post "For Earthday")

I agree with Ken. Find anything Malcom has to say. He is the God of segmented.

The author of choice is Malcolm Tibbetts
Title: The Art of Segmented Wood Turning
Malcolm's website: http://www.tahoeturner.com/

I just got the book last week. He lays the process out step-by-step. You almost can't go wrong.
