My Latest Vase.

Camhpor Laurel, 280x140mm, sanded to 2500 Grit, finished with Shellawax Cream.

I used 1 tool, throughout the entire process-my 3/4" Bowl Gouge. This, is just a branch off of the tree, and the sapwood, is just near the bark. Camphor Laurel, is around 60% Sapwood. The timber is a dream to cut, and the smell, is amazing.

Wall thixkness is around 1/5"

All comments appreciated:)

Wow! That is on gorgeous piece, Joash! The grain on that kinda reminds me of cocobolo! The shape is awesome as is the finish! Is this just hollowed out with a BG? What is the wall thickness?? Also, what grain orientation is that? I am imagining that is sapwood in the center, but I can't picture the position of this piece in a log... maybe I'm just tired ;) Anyway... great work!!!!
