I have a situation where I'm trying to use Mail Merge in X3, but sadly, when I got the list from the customer, it contained some special characters, such as zero with a line through it, meaning "phase" in the electrical world.
I can open the Insert Character docker and see the character I need, in Arial, it's Alt. + 0216.
My question is how to get them into a mail merge. Anyone got any ideas?

Scott,
Use Wordpad to create the data file in .RTF format-- you should be able to have the special characters in that data file if you do that.

Scott,
I just did a quick test and the characters merged fine. Create your text file and hold the alt key down while typing in the numbers on the number pad - must be the number pad!
Save the file and then proceed with the merge as usual.

edit - you can use notepad, wordpad, excel, word, etc to create the file.
