I got this section of Mulberry crotch from my Brother-in-law, the ends started cracking before I could get it sealed. I roughed the whole crotch a few weeks ago, then filled the cracks with epoxy/charcoal dust before re-turning. It has a little spalting in areas. 11" diameter by around 7" tall, burned rim and buffed Antique oil finish.

This is one of the most interesting pieces of wood I've seen in a long time. That spalting is something else. Oh yeah... the turning ain't bad, either...;) :D

Very nice indeed. I love mulberry (well, the one piece I have done). How did you get it to stop moving and distorting?

Thanks,
Steve Kubien

Steve, I roughed turned it and soaked it overnight in DNA. I finished turned it about 3 weeks later. It had moved maybe 1/4". ;)
