Those are neat. Did you shoot the deer yourself? I think it would be cool to have pen made from the casing and antler from something like a kid's first spike buck they shoot, as an alternative to a mount.

I have found that the 308 is just the right size for these pens. How do you get the nib to stay centered in the bullet end of the caseings? I wrap the end of the tube in tape then ca it to make it stay.
30-30 casings will work too.
