Hi All,
Dad and my Sister came over today to learn how to turn bowls. I am by no means a expert bowl turner but we had a fun time turning firewood in to bowls. It was the first time my sister made anything from wood. Her bowl was turned from some crabapple that had a bark inclusion in it. Dad turned a few lamps a couple years ago but, before he made the lamps the last time he used a lathe was in high school (graduated in 1938). Dads bowl was turned from maple. They both did a nice job of turning. Now they are comming over again tomorrow to make more bowls. Looks like they were bitten by the Turning Bug!!!!. I guess I better get some more firewood ready for them to turn :D.
Wish I had a digital camera so I could post pics of there bowls.
