Hi all,

Here's a maple form 4.5" tall by 3" wide with 1" center hole. I was so intent on parting it off to see how it felt that I rushed the final steps and didn't complete the sanding. Hence this one stays with me :)

I was hoping for a .75" hole but couldn't do it on this first try in deep hollowing. Carelessness when inserting the tool caused me to have to open it up to just under an inch to get rid of the marks.

I am happy at how the inside came out, I did a little measuring but relied mostly on the sound to keep the sides close to the same thickness which is about 3/16th.

First try? My first try at hollowing through a small hole has long since been burnt. Nice work. You can use a jam chuck to remount the vessel and sand it.

I think I will do some turning today in Longview, WA.

Nice work Bill....I like it....At least your not finished turning looks better than most any of my turnings "finished"..... ;)

I'm trying hard to work up the courage to try a hollow form, great piece.
