Wowzers... that would have to be scary. Is it a natural edge? You get your sleeve caught on that and it would saw ya in half! I might try it though... after you Joash, of course!

Looking at the article that this pic was in(American Woodworker Feb 98) it's a Tyme/Multico lathe. The piece was spinning at a whopping 25rpms!!

Did he start with a huge chunk of wood or did he hog it out before starting? I'd sure like to see that in person. What was it done for anyway? That must be the JUMBO salad.:D

You turners are weird people, not a single person is concerned about all the wasted wood ;) . But that is one serious rig.
